We are so excited to share two new product lines, Olaplex and Actiiv, with you!
Olaplex is a bond multiplier that can help prevent damage during a chemical service and repair hair afterwards. We’ve also added new shampoo, conditioner and styling products. We are excited for you to be able to add on to a Olaplex treatment and take home products to maintain it in between. For our other new product line, meet Actiiv Thickening Shampoo for Men. The thickening shampoo is great for men with fine or thinning hair!

Happy May! It is one of my favorite months of the year, for so many reasons. Every year when May hits, it’s finally feels like spring and warm weather are here to stay. Tulips and Hyacinth some are my favorite flowers. On May 11th, we celebrated Atlas Beauty’s second anniversary and on May 22nd it’s my birthday! Shameless, a little maybe, but I promise to share the love.

I am ready to be back in the salon. Being home hasn’t been the worst thing, so much accomplished, but I miss seeing all of you and being creative. Creativity has been something that I have struggled with during the salon closure. Interactions and environment inspire me the most. I created a little challenge for myself to bring back some of my creativity. I chose three different types of packing material and styled three different buns. I won’t claim these as my favorite or best work, but it was definitely an exercise in working with what you have and bringing back creativity. And working with packing material isn’t the easiest for hair placement! Have you had a creative outlet during quarantine?
I know I am counting down the days until we can open the doors at Atlas Beauty again. We will be notifying everyone as soon as we know the details and look forward to celebrating all the things with you- including fresh hair!

After spending a couple weeks in India and soaking up the sunshine, I am so ready for the spring! This year, I am so excited about all the happenings at Atlas Beauty this spring. We’ve added a new stylist and have our spring event coming up.
Please welcome Dylan Valentine to our team! Dylan just moved to town from New Jersey. Her passion is styling and fashion hair colors. She is easy to laugh and will make you feel right at home. Atlas Beauty is Accepting Donations for Steadfast House
Happy Holidays from Atlas Beauty! We are on the home stretch for the holidays and the end of the year. We are so excited to end 2019 with a bang!
We are having the final collections for the Steadfast House.
If you are still interested in donating, we will be collecting items until the 31st. In case you are unaware, Steadfast House is transitional housing that gives hope, healing, health, and home to single women, mothers with children, and female veterans in need. The Season of Giving

Fall Hair Styling Tutorials (Videos included!)

One of the easiest ways to create a professionally styled look (when you didn’t spend a lot of time on it!) is to include a hair scarf or hair twilly. We are going to show you two different quick ways to style your hair.
Ribbon twist with a Hair Scarf!
We love this style for any and every occasion. You can switch up the look with different scarf colors and styles to go with any outfit. It’s so easy! Watch Faith’s step-by-step to see how she created this look.
· Brush your hair into a pony with a hair tie
· (optional) Take the tail of your comb and pull out to loosen and create volume within your style
· Wrap your hair scarf around your hair tie, starting under the ponytail and wrapping over the top
· Split your ponytail in half with each half of the hair scarf
· Twist each side of the hair scarf around each side of the split ponytail
· Spin one pony up and around the hair tie
· Spin the other pony over the top of the hair tie
· Pin around the outside of the twist to secure
· Show off your ribbon twist!

Lazy Hair Day Style
I love this look and adding a hair twilly when I want to add something to an outfit or when I am trying to hide my extra-dirty hair.
· Begin by teasing mohawk section of hair in one inch subsections
· Pull mohawk section into a half-up-half-down, twist and pin.
· Pull all hair from in front of ears to the center back, in two sections. Tie into knots, this will depend on the length of your hair and if you want any left out. I choose to leave a little bit of mine out for a messier style.
· Gather remaining hair into two sections and tie into as many knots as your hair will allow, then pin.
· Cross check hair with a mirror and make any style adjustments
· Add a hair twilly, mine is from: www.gillilandhcwildrags.com
· Adjust the front with a comb and your hands. Maybe even pull some hair out and add a few curls to your style.

Second Day Hair Style (Videos!), Asheville Pop Up Market, and September Specials
Happy September Beauties! We hope you are having a great month thus far! What do people say about your hair when you’re not around? All good things, I hope. If not, don’t forget to check out our step-by-step day 2 style videos and book your fall hair appointment.
Second Day Hair with Faith
· I begin by spraying in dry shampoo to add a little bit of life back into my roots.
· To begin the style I section my hair down the middle making two large sections.
· Once I am sectioned out, I tie off one side and braid the other side back in a reversed French braid. I braid each 3 strands by going under the section into the middle opposite from a French braid where you would take each outside section over the middle.
· I follow the same braid onto the other side, stopping at the neck and creating a messy bun to tie off each braid.
This braided style is one of my go to looks for any day two or running late hair days.
French Braid with a Tuck with Jenna
· Brush all of your hair out and back.
· Make sure you have a small hair tie ready.
· Begin with a traditional three strand Dutch braid, pieces go under instead of over.
· Braid your hair until you have a small amount of hair left.
· Use your hair tie at the end of your hair
· Gently loosen braid, starting at the bottom and expanding up.
· Roll the end of your braid up and into itself and pin with a bobby pin on each side or until it feels secure.
· Spray with AG Aerodynamic Hairspray to finish.
I love this style because it looks polished and like I took time to get ready- I didn’t!

New Tutorials!
Have you ever wondered what to use to curl your hair? We’ve put together tutorials on curling with a traditional curling iron, a wand and a flat iron so you can see the different out comes. It was funny when we started to plan these videos, because all of us had a different favorite tool and we are showcasing how we curl our hair at home.
Traditional Curling Iron Curls by Faith
· Prep your hair with a heat protectant, we love Firewall by AG.
· Take a horseshoe shaped section around your head, from ear to ear.
· Start in the front and work to center back. Curling each front piece towards you face and alternating direction from there.
· Continue with your next horse shoe shaped section, above the first.
· Alternate the first curl direction away from the face this time, continue alternating each curl from front to center back.
· Move to the third horse shoe section. Begin in the front curling the front pieces away from your face.
· Curl all top pieces to the back or away from your face.
Flat Iron Curls by Riley
· Prep you hair with a heat protectant, like Deflect by AG.
· Begin with a horizontal subsection behind the ears.
· Ribbon the hair(yes, like gift wrap) in alternating directions.
· Work front to center back on both sides.
· Drop down your next horizontal section. Begin by curling each section away from your face and alternating.
· Continue this pattern until all the hair is curled.
· Once curls have cooled, run your fingers through them to break them up and place them as desired.
Wand Curls by Jenna
· Prep your hair with a heat protectant like Firewall by AG
· Split hair in half, based off of where you are parting.
· Take a diagonal back subsection, from front to back.
· Begin curling in the front, curl away from your face. Alternate curl directions from there.
· Continue working your way up the head.
· Repeat this pattern on the other side of the head.
· Let curls cool completely before breaking them up.
· I like to use a gloss, like Texture Gloss by AG, when I break my curls up.
· Yes, I totally flip my head over and shake them out every time! Scrunching them helps them from becoming too soft and keeping their shape.
Tips for Curls:
· Prep your hair with a product that has memory like a foam, gel, or spray. Serums do not have memory and are great for you hair, but add some memory too!
· When you are taking a section, the smaller the section the tighter the curl and the larger the softer.
· Let your curls cool completely before you break them up, this will add more memory and longevity.
· I like to hairspray mine a little before and after I break my curls up.
· You can always go back and re-curl a piece! These curls can totally be sisters, not twins!

Braids are one of our favorite styles, especially in the summer. Easy looks to from day to night and all weekend long. Braids never go out of style and there are so many options available. Keep an eye out for our next class, “Babes and Braids” the date is coming soon!
Dutch Braids into Pigtails by Faith
Step 1: part your hair down the middle into 2 sections.
Step 2: pull one side into a small bun or brain to get out of the way
Step 3: start at the top, pull hair into three strands and begin the braid and add hair into each outside section, trading places with the middle strand each time. Tie off into a small pony tail before you get all the way to the bottom.
Step 4: take down the other side of your hair and follow step 3 for that side too.
Step 5: to finish off this look, I like to take a strand of hair from each pony tail and wrap it around the hair tie to hide it.
Love this look on a hot summer day, when I want a style in my hair but it’s too hot to wear it down.
Half-Up-Half-Down Dutch Braids by Riley
Step 1: Start by parting your hair down the middle
Step 2: Make your next part on the left and right side, from your temple to the crown
Step 3: Start your Dutch braid at your hair line and braid to your crown
Step 4: Once you reach your crown wrap an elastic around the braid at the root and flush the remaining hair.
I love to use Dry Lift for this braid to give it added texture.
Crown Dutch Braid by Jenna
Step 1: Spray Tousled Texture in your hair to add texture to your braid.
Step 2: Lean head forward to hair falls where it will live as you braid.
Step 3: Take a zig-zag parting behind your ear.
Step 4: Begin with traditional tree-strand braid. I like to work strands under, instead of over, for more of a 3D affect.
Step 5: Continue braid around the head, working towards your face first.
Step 6: Once you have all of your hair in the braid, start at the end of the braid and gently tug and expand your braid. Work you way from where you ended to where you began.
Step 7: Roll the end of your braid to the length you need to connect the tail of the braid to the beginning of the braid.
Step 8: Pin and adjust hair as needed to get your desired final look.
I love this braid because it is so fun to wear, practice it a couple of times and it will become one of your go-to looks.

SUMMER 2019 Hair Trends
Hair scarves are back and better than ever! Add a twist to any hairstyle this summer by tying in your favorite vintage hair scarf or oversized hair pin. The best part is, you have full creative freedom with this style.
Style 1 Step by Step
Start with your hair the way you like it best, curly or straight.
Pull half of your hair up into a top knot or a low half up, half down bun.
Once your bun is ready to go the way you like it, wrap your hair scarf around the hair tie and pull it into a knot letting it hang for a boho vibe.
Style 2 Step by Step
Pull 2 strands from the front of your hair twisting them into an elastic in the back.
Take a hair scarf and lay it over the elastic band.
Pull the rest of your hair over one shoulder, into three sections adding the ends of your hair scarf into the outer two sections. Braid your hair into a regular three-strand braid, and tying it off at the bottom with an elastic band. If you have any scarf left over at the end of the braid, you can tie it into a fashion bow, covering the elastic band.
Style 3 Step by Step
Section your hair, by pulling it up into a half pony.
Twist the pony into a small bun and pin it to stay.
Once you have the perfect half up bun, slide your vintage over-sized pin in through the top or middle of your bun allowing the top of the pin and the bottom of the pin to stick out of each side of the bun like a chopstick.

We are so excited to welcome May this year, as we celebrate our one-year anniversary! We have some really fun stuff planned for the month to keep the celebration going all month long.
To kick it off the celebration, all hair and beauty products are BOGO ½, buy-one-get-one-half-off. So it’s time to stock up on all of your favorite hair care and styling products.
May also means prom and wedding season are in full effect. To take the pressure off of attending weddings and worrying about your hair, we have created some quick styling videos. Each of us has different hair to work with, so there is a little something for everyone.
Jenna’s Style Tips:
1. Start by adding some volume in the crown
2. Twist crown hair into a some-up-some-down style and pin leaving out all hair in front of the ear
3. Take all hair behind the ear and split it down the middle, tie hair into as many knots as your length will allow, roll it into itself and pin.
4. Take each section of hair in front of ear, lightly twist, direct it to the back and pin. These sections will help hide and bobby pins or imperfections.
5. Turn and check the back. Adjust crown or knots as needed.
Faith’s Style Tips
1. You can start with curled or straight hair for this look.
2. Section hair in a half up-style, leaving hair out by your hairline and ears.
3. Twist into messy bun and pin.
4. Take hair below the bun and create an off-center bun and pin.
5. Take lowest section, twist and pull to create your third messy bun.
6. Twist hair in the front sections, pull/expand, direct back, and pin.
7. Leave piece out by your face if you prefer.
8. Check the back, adjust and pin as needed.
Riley’s Style Tips
1. Start with wavy or curled hair and add texture to the crown with Dry Lift
2. Section out the crown section and use a rubber band to secure it.
3. Twist your section into itself and pull the tail through
4. Section out the hair below your crown section and repeat with the rubber band and twist.
5. Continue until you have created three “bands and twists”.
6. Twist and expand hair by the face, direct back and pin to cover your rubber bands
